News:
The Bavarian Parliament and Council of Ministers authorized the merger of Klinikum rechts der Isar and the German Heart Centre Munich to form a united entity known as the TUM University Hospital. This strategic consolidation aims to leverage synergies in medical research and healthcare provision while allowing both institutions to remain operatively independent. The hospital and ITM Isotope Technologies Munich signed a framework agreement to accelerate the development of innovative radiopharmaceuticals for targeted cancer treatments. A new nationwide network for Long Covid research and treatment was established with substantial funding to coordinate specialized care centers for children and adolescents. Researchers at the institution developed a method for tracking modified immune cells within the body to improve the safety and efficacy of modern immunotherapies. Clinical trials are also being conducted to evaluate a novel therapeutic vaccination for patients with chronic hepatitis B virus infections.
